Does it hurt?
Nowhere near as much as you would expect! With our cooling machine & numbing cream available most of the discomfort is eliminated. It is often referred to as the flick of a hot rubber band on the skin. Usually the procedure is over within minutes.. Sometimes seconds! You may return to work immediately. There is no down time for this procedure.
How many sessions will I need?
On average, we recommend 6-12 treatments for complete removal & 2-4 treatments to fade for a cover up. All treatments are spaced approximately 6 to 8 weeks apart. The number of treatments depends on the amount and type of ink used and the depth of the ink in the skin.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes we offer Afterpay at both our locations.
What laser machine do you use?
We use the highest standard of laser - Cynosure Medlight C6 and Cynosure Affinity QS laser.
Do all colours of ink disappear equally as well?
Black inks and red inks fade the best. Oranges and purples usually respond well. Green and blue inks are the most difficult to remove, although additional treatments can produce significant results.
Will it scar?
With our advanced laser system we are able to target the ink particles with the least amount of skin interaction. Scarring is very rare with tattoo removal. Often there can be scarring present when the tattoo was done, which in this case, will stay present once the ink has been removed. Following our carefully prepared after care instructions are just as important as looking after a new tattoo.
What can I expect after tattoo removal?
Recovery times depend on the extent of the treatment and the individual’s capacity to heal. After the procedure the area may be red or swollen, as if mildly sunburned, for 3-5 days. There may be some bruising, blistering or scabbing. An antibacterial ointment and a dressing will be applied to the area. The treated area should be kept clean with continued application of an antibacterial ointment. You should avoid exposing the treated area to the sun, as this may effect healing.
Am I a candidate for Laser Tattoo Removal?
If you are in good health (no serious health concerns) & have realistic expectations you may be a good candidate for Laser Tattoo Removal. We will need to assess your eligibility with a comprehensive consultation before we commence treatment.
How long until I can remove a new tattoo?
The healing process for a new tattoo takes between 8 to 16 weeks. The skin must be allowed to fully heal, otherwise the chances of scarring are far more likely. We like to get you in for a consultation during this time to discuss your options & book you in once the healing time has been completed.
How does Q-switched ND Yag Laser Tattoo Removal work?
Our Q-Switched laser works by producing short pulses of intense light that pass harmlessly through the top layers of the skin to be selectively absorbed by the tattoo pigment. This laser energy causes the tattoo pigment to fragment into smaller particles that are then removed by the body's immune system. The impact of the energy from the powerful pulse of light is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band. The laser energy is harmless, and only targets the pigmented skin, leaving the un-inked surrounding skin unharmed.
Why 6-8 weeks in between treatments?
Best results are achieved when treatments are spaced six to eight or more weeks apart. The natural process of the body’s lymphatic system removing the ink particles is on-going under the skin. Treating a tattoo earlier than the advised time does not speed-up the process of laser tattoo removal.
Why fade/remove when I can get a cover up?
Starting with the cleanest canvas possible doesn’t only benefit you, but also your tattoo artist. Fading your old tattoo might cost a little more and it will take a little longer but it opens up so many more doors for you design and size wise giving you your dream tattoo.
How long does a treatment take?
Treatments are super quick with our laser firing 10 pulses per second. Most treatments last from only a few seconds for a small tattoo & a few minutes for a large tattoo. Once the treatment is complete we will dress the area and run through your aftercare instructions ensuring you the best healing possible.
Can you remove cosmetic eye brow tattoos?
Cosmetics tattoos are a tricky one. We asses each client’s cosmetic eyebrow tattoos on a case by case basis which depends greatly on the colour and type of cosmetic ink used. Some cosmetic ink can be removed, others unfortunately cannot.
